Office 365 Update for April 2018

Join Microsoft’s Jim Naroski for a new round of Office 365 news, helping you make the most of your service experience.

Here’s what got my attention this time:

  • Microsoft 365 Admin Center – after unveiling Microsoft 365 last year, this year, on March 2nd Microsoft introduced the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, a single place where admins can manage Office 365, Windows 10 and Enterprise Mobility + Security.  There are 2 key components to be rolled out soon, the Security and Compliance Center and Microsoft 365 Device Management, the first to arrive pretty soon. More here.
  • In Microsoft Teams, guests are no longer required to have an Azure Active Directory Account. Every consumer or business email account will do from now on, and the guests will have access to team chats, meetings and files. At the same time, each guest will be covered by the same compliance and auditing protection like the rest of Office 365.There’s still one caveat though, each guest must have a Microsoft account associated to their email address. Not too much of a worry about this, because if they don’t have one, they will be directed to create one for free.
